Supreme court Reconsiders NEET and JEE exam

Supreme Court on Friday reconsiders six states, including Bengal, on NEET and JEE



1.Six opposition states, including Bengal, have filed a petition for reconsideration of the Supreme Court's verdict on the NEET and JEE exams in Corona. The Supreme Court on Thursday responded to the states'  The case will be heard in the apex court on Friday. On August 16, the Supreme Court rejected a petition seeking suspension or cancellation of the entrance examination for medical and engineering.

2.The ministers of the six states said the apex court's verdict had failed to protect students' right to life and that corona virus was causing logical difficulties among students by conducting such tests during the epidemic. Incidentally, the National Testing Essence (‌NTA) , which conducts both these exams, has held the JEE Main exam from September 1 to September 6 and the NIT exam will be held on September 13. A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, BR Gawai and Krishna Murari accepted the petition for reconsideration.





3.Meanwhile, the six state cabinet members who have taken the initiative are Malay Ghatak, the law minister of West Bengal, Rajeshwar Oraon, the finance minister of Jharkhand, Raghu Sharma, the health minister of Rajasthan, Amarjit Bhagat, the food minister of Chhattisgarh, Balbir Singh Sidhu, the health minister of Punjab. Lawyer Sunil Fernandez applied for the six states.

 4.According to the NTA, about 9.853 lakh and 15.697 lakh students registered for JEE (main) ‌ and NIT (UUG). According to the application, JEE Maine will accommodate 9.753 lakh students in more than 60 test centers across the country, with 1,443 students sitting in each center. Similarly, 15.698 lakh students will sit for the exam in 415 seats in each of the country's 3,843 examination centers.
