Paytm Removed from Google Play Store for Violating Google Policies

On Friday, Fintech major Paytm is removed from Google Play Store and Paytm also tweeted " Your money is Completely safe and Paytm is temporarily is not available in Play Store for new downloads and update".

Paytm tweeted when Google removed the application from Play Store because Paytm was violate online gambling policies of Google for promoting online gaming platform ' Paytm First Games'.

PTI informed that Paytm is not available in Play Store for new downloads but there will be no impact for existing users.

Google mailed Paytm on Friday That paytm was blocked due to violation of Play policies. Google also informed that existing didn't get any problems for this.

The Founder and CEO of Paytm Vijay Shekhar Sharma said, " Sachin is an inspiration of Billion peoples all over the world. He is the pride of our country and He is an excellent cricketer and hard working men. Like Sachin we also believe that we inspire billions of people to follow their dreams and Achieve their goals.

Sachin Tendulkar also claimed: “Cricket is an important sport. Paytm First Games will give fans the opportunity to increase their thinking and give experience to making the correct player choice and getting their teams to win. I am very happy to partner with Paytm First Games".It also added that 200 or more live event featured on this platform including International and domestic cricket and more sports.

Also other gaming platform like dream 11, Mobile Premiere League (MPL) etc which are allowed to put real money to play were not removed from Play Store. For instance, MPL was launched in October 2018 and it was removed in 2019.

Paytm was invest 300 crore for growing the market of fantasy sports and other online games.

We don't allow online casinos of unauthorised gambling apps that facilitate sports betting. This includes if an app leads consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies," Google said in a blog post.

The blog also said, "if any app lead consumer to an external site to participate in paid game to win real cash and prizes, it's the violation of our policies. When any application violate these policies, we notify the developer and remove the application from Google Play Store. But for Paytm, there are repeated policy Violation and that's Why Paytm removed from Google Play Store"

For the first time in history, Paytm main application removed from Play Store. But other applications of Paytm like Paytm money, Paytm for business etc were still available in Play Store.
