Today Sunday 15 September, 2020 is Engineer's Day. Engineer's day is Celebrated because of Mokshagodam Vishwavarya(Sir MV), awarded by 'Bharat Ratna' in India, Sri Lanka and Tanazia.He was born on 1861 on this day in Muddennahalli,Karnataka.

West Bengal State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wishes on Twitter on Engineer's day occasion of Mokshagundam Biswabharya's birthday. "I pay my respects to the famous engineer and Bharat Ratna M Vishwavarya," he wrote. His birthday is celebrated as Engineer's Day. Greetings to all the engineers today. "

In November 1909, Sir M Vishwavarya became the Chief Engineer of Mysore. In 1912 he was made Diwan (Second Minister) of the State. He was Diwan for seven years. He was the main architect of the establishment of engineering college in the state in 1917.
